You will have an opportunity to complete a FEMA administered online posttest upon the completion of this course. You are required by FEMA to provide your Social Security Number to complete the online posttest. Completion Certificates are distributed by the Emergency Management Institute (EMI).

You may call and leave a voice mail message at all other times. Voice mail messages and e-mails will be responded to as soon as possible.

Important Notice from FEMA: Due to the thousands of people completing independent study courses each week, it will take at least eight weeks to process exam results and get completion certificates mailed. FEMA will email a notice of completion if you include your email address on all exam submissions. Completion notices will be issued within twenty-four hours for exams submitted Monday through Friday. Notices for all weekend submissions will be emailed by the following Monday afternoon. Please retain the email notice as proof of course completion until you receive your Independent Study Program Certificate of Achievement via the U.S. postal system. If you do not have an email address and need course completion verification, please contact the FEMA Emergency Management Institute at (301)447-1200.
